Lead by Sophia, our Taps UK team undertook a 25-mile walk of the historic 144 bus route known by many to raise money for Cure Parkinson's. The arduous walk on Sunday began at the Smallbrook Queensway in Birmingham at 9 am and they finally finished at their destination in Worcester around 8 pm.
Sophia, Bryony, Millie, Abbie, James, Lydia, and Jake along with Becki Harley all set off to complete this amazing feat, and although only 4 made it to the very end - it doesn't make it any less of an achievement for the whole team.
The team had set a target of £1,000 but so far have nearly doubled that, with the current total around £1,800. All this achieved with thanks to the many people who donated, also Market Cars for a complimentary taxi home, and First Worcester who donated £250. Further thanks to the Bromsgrove Standard, for their support in publicising the event and getting it the exposure it deserves. You can read their article here.
It is also important to remember that this money was raised to help combat a truly awful disease, which impacts families around the world daily. Any help that we can give to find a cure for Parkinson's disease is money well spent, and if you wish to support Team 144 further, their donation page is still open here.
