Triflow Concepts

Triflow Concepts, formerly known as Avilion, is a true UK manufacturing success story. The company was established in 1978 as a brassware manufacturer, excelling in producing high quality engineering solutions. Triflow Concepts is unique in that it controls 100% of the manufacturing process; from concept design through to casting, machining, polishing, plating, assembly, testing, packaging and logistics. We are one of the largest independent brassware manufacturers in the UK with the most technologically advanced machinery available and a highly skilled workforce. Triflow Concepts' products are renowned for design excellence, unrivalled quality and an exacting attention to detail. Triflow products are increasingly specified for many of the world's most luxurious hotels, resorts, spas and private residences.

The Triflow is the world’s first tap that delivers hot and cold water as well as filtered water through a dedicated waterway in the same spout, a system that ensures that there is no cross-contamination. This patented, point of use water treatment system delivers the freshest, highest quality drinking water straight from the tap and thereby eliminates the need for bottled water.

This groundbreaking development has been one of the most significant changes to the industry over recent years and its strong patent remains unchallenged.

In 1991, Triflow Concepts uniquely developed a patented system for the world's first tap able to deliver hot, cold and refined water from a single spout, but with a system that ensures there is no cross-contamination.

In 1993, the company launched the Perrin & Rowe range of brassware for kitchen and bathroom. These products soon gained their position as market leaders in the luxury kitchen and bathroom brassware sectors and are specified by the most discerning architects and designers around the world.

In 2006, Triflow Concepts expanded into a second manufacturing plant in Wolverhampton and acquired a sanitaryware manufacturing plant based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, at the very heart of the ceramics industry.

In 2009, to celebrate the company's 30th anniversary, Triflow Concepts commissioned renowned architect Zaha Hadid to design two new models for Triflow. Depending on personal preference, either can be used in the kitchen or the bathroom. Zaha Hadid's designs consistently push the boundaries of architecture and design and her endorsement affirms Triflow Concepts as an innovative company rather than one that follows trends.

In 2010, Triflow Concepts launched the "Back to Tap" campaign, encouraging consumers to substitute environmentally harmful bottled water with refined tap water.

After 3 years of development, we launched the Triflow Quadro System at 100% Design in 2010. This state-of-the-art appliance delivers not only hot, cold and filtered water, but also filtered water heated to 98°C. As with all other Triflow Systems, the filtered water is supplied through a dedicated waterway in the same spout.

Most products are available in a range of finishes, from black nickel and chrome to matte gold.
We believe the real difference between a good establishment and a great one is the quality of the people. At Triflow Concepts we are obsessed with excellence. To achieve this we invest heavily in the training of our staff and constantly push their creative skills.

We want to lead the tap revolution. Engineering solutions and innovative design are the cornerstones of our success. Our aspiration lies in expanding these areas and producing a wide range of lifestyle products that will enhance our customers' water experience without compromising quality or style.

Today, everybody is acutely aware of the impact that industry can have on the environment, and at our company we treat this with utmost importance. Our policy is to embrace the environmental challenge; we aspire to meet the very highest standards in environmental control.

In recent years we have made great strides forward, challenging our purchasing department to source materials that will have the least impact on our environment and substantially reducing our waste output, as well as recycling materials wherever possible. And, through prudent business management, we have now seen a considerable reduction in our energy consumption. Working alongside our environmental working group, we have a long-term investment plan that will continuously update our manufacturing equipment and processes to meet the environmental challenges of the future.

In addition to taking our own commitment to the environment seriously, we enable consumers to reduce their carbon footprint and take responsibility for our environment through the use of Triflow products.

  • Back in 1991, Triflow Concepts invented the world’s first three-way tap, a pioneering step in point-of-use water filtration systems.
  • 20 years later, we pushed the boundaries again with the invention of the Triflow Quadro. This appliance delivers hot and cold as well as filtered cold and instant hot, filtered water heated to 98°C. Like all Triflow Systems, the filtered water is delivered through a dedicated tube in the spout, avoiding cross-contamination with unfiltered water.

  • Hand-crafted from low-lead brass and manufactured employing the latest cutting-edge designs and technology
  • Plated to a thickness exceeding industry standards, thus ensuring a deep, protective coating which is luxuriously pleasing to the eye and resistant to wear

  • Dedicated waterway within a single spout for both hot and cold filtered water delivery, thus avoiding cross-contamination
  • High performance Swiss-made ceramic filter cartridge affords the benefit of both cold and hot filtered water, removing all impurities down to 0.2 microns
  • Heater tank operates as a non-pressurised system for your safety and peace of mind

  • Choose from a variety of designs and finishes, depending on personal taste.
  • Launched 'Triflow by Zaha Hadid' back in 2009, a product pushing the boundaries of conventional tap design, inspired by the fluidity of water.
  • Renowned product designer and Head of Design Products at Royal College of Arts, Tord Boontje, has designed a droplet shaped carafe for our Lifestyle accessories product line, while his tap design, 'Triflow by Tord Boontje' has already been prototyped and will be taken into production soon.

Water is vital for life, and ensuring that you get an adequate daily intake is important for everyday health and well-being.

  • Approximately 5 pints of water enter the stomach every day in the form of drinks and food.
  • Of that 4 pints pass into the bloodstream through the small intestine.
  • That is 80% of the water we consume being retained for use in essential body functions.

In the same way that “you are what you eat,” it is also true that “you are what you drink”. With that in mind, we hope that everyone will do the right thing and choose filtered water.

Did you know that 71% of the world’s surface is water? So there must be more than enough to go around, right? Well, the real answer is no.

  • Seawater is brackish and too high in solids to be consumed.
  • Only 2% of the world’s water is fresh. Half of that is under ice caps.
  • That leaves us with just 1% to meet the drinking needs of a growing world population.

Although bottled water might seem the obvious answer, when you take into account the fact that 3 litres of water are required to produce one litre of bottled water, reaching for the bottle seems to make much less sense.

To put that into perspective, 200 billion litres of bottled water are being consumed every year.

This brings us to the important question about how we should treat this valuable resource. Is water a commodity to be put on the open market for sale like running shoes and soft drinks? Or is it a human right that belongs to everyone as part of our collective human heritage?

In 1992 Triflow introduced an advanced point-of-use water filtration system to meet a vital need – fresh, filtered water at the turn of your tap.

At Triflow Concepts, we are proud of the ideology behind our products, so in 2009 we launched the ‘Back to tap’ campaign. The aim has been to encourage consumers to stop buying bottled water and return to drinking refined tap water as a healthier and, at 3p a litre, more economical alternative.

What does 0.2 Microns pore size means?
The particle size is conventionally measured in microns. One micron is one
thousandth of a millimetre. In order for our filters to achieve the filtration
capability necessary to remove pathogenic bacteria to levels that are
protective against disease, the ceramic pore size must be controlled to
reduce levels of suspended particles over 0.2 microns in size. That is the
smallest pore size in the market today.

To put this into perspective:
- A human hair is about 50 microns
- The smallest the naked eye can see is 20 microns
- A single red blood cell is 7 microns
- A cholera bacterium is 1 to 2 microns

Triflow Concepts Filter Cartridges are therefore trapping suspended matter from the water that is invisible to the naked eye.
