1.d Undermount

Undermounted sinks look particularly handsome when combined with solid granite, wood and marble worktops. As the name implies, an undermount is fitted underneath the worktop cut-out. This ensures the surface area of the worktop remains smooth and uninterrupted, without the sink edge rising above the worksurface.

2. Correct "Hand" Drainer or Correct "Hand" Bowl

Care must be taken when ordering any sink, regardless of the material the sink is made from, the most common mistake when ordering a sink is the "hand" of the drainer. Most manufacturer specify as left or right hand "drainer" where applicable, some manufacturer may specify theirs as left or right hand "bowl"
Many sinks are reversible, but if it is not, make sure you order the correct "hand" sink for your kitchen.

3. Sink and Base Unit

The sink base unit can also vary as much as the sink.
Most sink base units are between 500-1200mm wide. The unit that house the sink has to be wide enough to accommodate the bowl or bowls of the sink that is being installed. Most 1 bowl and 1 1/2 bowl sinks will fit into a 600mm sink base unit, but if you are planning to fit a waste disposal unit, you may need to allow bigger base unit.
